Join the Nebraska Extension Livestock Systems Team

University of Nebraska Extension is seeking a Livestock Systems Educator for Northwest Nebraska.  The position will serve Sheridan (5th Cow/Calf County in Nebraska), Dawes, Sioux, and Box Butte counties.  The region covers 1.5 million acres of agriculture land which includes 1.2 million acres of rangeland. There are 1005 cattle operations managing nearly 333,000 head of cattle.  Operations include cow/calf and stocker operations with some feeding operations in the southern portion.  There are also some additional opportunities to work with goat and sheep producers in area. The beef cattle industry generates over $315M in annual cattle sales in these counties.

We have an excellent opportunity for a full-time faculty position located in Fullerton, Nebraska. This position will focus on livestock systems with an emphasis in beef cattle production and management strategies or use of forages (range and pasture, residues, secondary forage crops, others) in beef systems. This position will be an active participant in the Nebraska Integrated Beef Systems Team within a geographic area that includes Nance, Boone, Merrick, Platte, Polk, Hamilton, and York Counties.
