The "Warm Season Annual Grazing Tour" will highlight forage and grazing strategies.
On September 17th from 6- 9 pm producers will have an opportunity to explore grazing strategies and crop-livestock integration during the upcoming Warm-Season Annual Grazing Tour by Johnson, Nebraska.
The tour will highlight practical approaches to utilizing cropland and forage resources to support livestock production while improving soil health and potentially reducing fertilizer needs.
Topics covered during the tour will include the conversion of cropland to perennial forage, seasonal annual forage and cover crop rotations, crop residue and stockpile grazing, and the implications of these practices for soil health and fertilizer use.
Participants will have the opportunity to see how different forage and grazing strategies can be incorporated into an operation and learn more about the potential benefits and considerations of integrating livestock into cropping systems.
The tour is designed to provide producers with practical information they can consider when evaluating forage production, grazing management and the long-term productivity of their land.
