Nebraska Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) is teaming up with National BQA to bring the Stockmanship and Stewardship program to Husker Harvest Days September 15-17, 2026. Nationally recognized educators Curt Pate and Dr. Ron Gill will share practical, real-world approaches to stockmanship that improve cattle health and well-being, handler safety and efficiency. Through proven cattle-handling principles and management strategies, attendees will learn stockmanship and stewardship practices that support both cattle performance and long-term ranch success. With two sessions each day, the program offers actionable insights and Beef Quality Assurance principles that producers can implement immediately to strengthen their operations.
The Tuesday and Thursday noon program will feature conversations with industry leaders on how effective stockmanship and sound animal health practices contribute to operational success. Attendees will gain insights into management strategies, BQA practices, and opportunities shaping the future of the cattle industry.
Wednesday’s program will highlight Nebraska’s National BQA Award winners as they share their experiences implementing BQA principles and the impact these practices have had on their operations. This panel will feature practical takeaways that can benefit operations of all sizes.
