  • Webinar Series on Toxic Plants & Livestock Health.  Learn how to recognize, prevent, and manage toxic plants in a three-part webinar, June 11, 18, & 25 from 7:30 to 8:30 pm CT. Register here. Cost is $30- a copy of Nebraska Plants Toxic to Livestock will be mailed.
  • Stocker/Yearling Tour set for June 17 in North Platte. Tours will focus on retained ownership, pasture recovery, herd management, and profitability. Pre-registration is required by June 10- $20 fee covers lunch & materials.
  • Cow-Calf Field Day on June 24. Cow-calf research updates, technology demonstrations, and a tour will be shared at USMARC near Clay Center.  Registration is encouraged for meal planning- $20 fee covers lunch & materials.

  • Registration Open for 2025 Nebraska Ranch Practicum 
    Held during eight sessions over three seasons of livestock and forage production cycles, participants will learn about a variety of topics at the research ranch. To register, submit an application by May 5, 2025. 
  • Fundamentals of Feeding the Cow Webinar
    This four-session webinar series is focused on understanding how the cow’s nutrient requirements change throughout the year and how to cost-effectively meet a cow's needs with grazed or harvested feed.

    The annual Nebraska Feedlot Extension Roundtables bring professionals from the industry to three locations across the state to address timely topics relevant to feedlot management.
  • Midwest FEEDS Practicum
    Learn practical, research-based strategies to improve your operation’s efficiency and profitability while leveraging the Midwest’s unique advantages in forage and grazing resources.
  • Nebraska Ranch Practicum
    The Nebraska Ranch Practicum is a three-season, hands-on educational program designed to give participants the skills and education needed in today's complex ranching industry. 
  • Range Beef Cow Symposium
    The Range Beef Cow Symposium, held biennially since 1969 in odd years, is sponsored by the Cooperative Extension Service and animal science departments at the University of Wyoming, South Dakota State University, Colorado State University, and the University of Nebraska. Known for its practical production management insights, the symposium rotates between the four states, focusing on beef production issues in the Western U.S.
  • Silage for Beef Cattle Conference
    The next Silage for Beef Cattle Conference will be in 2026. 

Nebraska Center for Agricultural Profitability  The interdisciplinary Center for Agricultural Profitability is based in the Department of Agricultural Economics. It facilitates faculty research, conducts extension outreach related to agricultural profitability and farm and ranch management and trains undergraduate and graduate students — all to support informed decision-making in agriculture.
