Symposium on Genetics of Reproduction

You are invited to attend the NBCEC Symposium on Genetics of Reproduction on December 4-5, 2009.

This meeting will address topics in the prediction of genetic merit of animals for reproductive performance traits. Topics focus on alternative phenotypic measures of reproduction, the economics of reproduction, genetic evaluations and projects designed to develop DNA marker tests for reproductive traits. The registration fee of $300 includes lunch and dinner on Friday, all breaks and meeting materials. The charge will appear on your credit card statement as "Companion Animal Genetics."

Hotel reservations: You can reserve and prepay for your hotel room on the registration web site. The negotiated rate is $110 per night. You will be responsible for paying any individual charges such as room service, movies, parking, etc., when you check out. If you want to share a room with someone, only one person should sign up for the room on the registration web site. Then let Susan Herbert (shh4@cornell.edu,607-255-4416) know with whom you will be sharing room, and she will make sure the hotel has that information.

12:00 a.m. Working Lunch – Participants will be assigned to a specific table and a table leader will be designated. Each table will be assigned a specific trait to discuss possibilities and challenges in regard to genetic evaluations. Group leaders will meet with Matt Spangler at evening social to formulate a presentation that addresses the issues discussed.
