Frequently Asked Questions
Can you explain the numbers that people use to indicate the kind of cattle they want when they place an order with an order buyer? For example....someone might order #1 black and whites or #1, 1/8 ear exotics. The " #1" part of that order is what I would like explained. Also, are there any websites you know of that I could go to to see examples?

What does a pre-breeding MLV with Vib/Lepto shot really do for you? What are the benefits? Cow costs in the Panhandle are closer to $700 per cow per year if all is included. How can Ag. land (pasture) pay for a cow when it is $300 per acre and we get 11" of rain?

Our steer has the scours and it has an extremely foul odor. We had him tested for coccidiosis and it was negative. We can tighten him up for a day if we give him probios but then he goes right back to scouring. We feed him hand-mixed feed with cracked corn, cotton seed meal, vitamins, yeast, molases and Aurromycin 4 g crumbles. Have fed several steers this feed mixture without a problem. Do you have any suggestions?

We have recently purchased a 17 month old Red Angus bull. He has bred all of our cows, they have been preg checked so we know he is good, but he seems to have a small scrotal sac, is there a standard for measurements.

With the price difference in corn & milo, was thinking of replacing corn in our ration, with milo. These are weaned cross-bred calves weighing 600#. Is there anything different I need to do with my ration?
